Metuchen-Trenton-Burlington Electric Transmission Project
Location:
Various locations, New Jersey
Owner:
PSEG
Year Completed:
2021
The Metuchen-Trenton-Burlington Project (MTB) strengthened the electric transmission system by replacing circuits between the PSEG Metuchen Switching Station in Edison, NJ and the PSEG Burlington Switching Station in Burlington, NJ. Spanning 55 miles and 17 municipalities through Burlington, Mercer, and Middlesex counties. Ferreira built temporary roadways for the 55 mile stretch of PSEG right of way. These temporary roadways allowed access for the demolition to the existing lattice towers and erection of the monopole towers. Additionally, Ferreira constructed 353 drilled shaft foundations ranging from 50 feet to 80 feet deep with diameters ranging from 9 feet to 16 feet. Once all work was completed, Ferreira crews removed the temporary roadways and restored the PSEG right of way to its preconstruction state.
