PSEG Montclair Main Replacement
Location:
Montclair, New Jersey
Owner:
PSEG
Year Completed:
2018
PSEG contracted Ferreira to replace aging cast iron gas pipes with new, durable plastic and/or coated steel piping. The reason for the replacement was to ensure the safety and reliability of their gas system for the future. Ferreira crews were able to perform work during regular work hours without affecting the daily commuters. Ferreira was responsible for the installation of the distribution gas main using a jack and bore system in which a carrier pipe was bored under the railway tracks without any disruption of rail service and the associated product pipe was inserted into the carrier pipe replacing the existing possibly compromised facilities.
